Nana, Granddaddy, Aunt Julie, and Jace (Kevin’s mom, dad, sister & nephew) came for the weekend and we had a great visit. Aunt Julie even got up at 3:00 a.m. so mom and dad could get a few extra hours of sleep. The weather was wonderful and Drew got to spend some time outside with Nana. He loves being outside.
The Griners made the trip to Mississippi to meet Drew, too. It was so wonderful to get to introduce them. Drew really loved Mr. Donnie. I think he knew that he was the person to buddy up to if you want good bird hunts in your future. I know Kevin looks forward to the day he and Drew can quail hunt together.
Granny, Dalton and Wiggy (MM’s mom, nephew and family friend) came by for dinner on their way to Florida. It is amazing to look at the pictures from when Granny held him the first time she was here and then the pictures of them now. He is growing so fast.
All else is going well. We had a little setback this weekend. Drew decided he didn't want to sleep more than about an hour at a time. I think it was a combination of a growth spurt and some reflux. We saw the pediatrician today and he changed formula again. The new stuff actually has rice cereal mixed in and should be a little heavier on his stomach. Hopefully the spit-ups with decrease and sleep with go back to 3-4 hours at night or even more. We started it this morning and I think it is already helping. Keeping our fingers crossed!! It isn't affecting his weight gain, he is now 10lbs 4ozs.
Next week will be busy. Dad has a trial in North Mississippi, so we will have our first few nights alone. Luckily friends will come by in the afternoons to help out and give me a break. And then his first shots on Thursday, which means we will be able to start getting out more without worrying about exposure. It is hard to believe he will 7 weeks tomorrow. He is really focusing in on things these days and is more alert every day. We love every minute and Kevin is already trying to teach him to say Daddy. We are so blessed to have such a beautiful, healthy baby.
