Where Did May Go?

We had a jam-packed May and June looks even busier.  We have finished another season of T-ball, played in the rain more than once, helped our dear friend Scott celebrate his birthday and another year of life while battling Lou Gehrig's disease, had our fist family camping trip - tent and all, took some inaugural plunges down the new slide at the pool and just really been running in every direction.  Wouldn't have it any other way!  To say the least it has been an exciting May.

Happy Birthday Scott!

There was a time when we weren't sure Scott would see his next birthday.  4 years later we are so blessed to see him still blowing out his candles.  Watching Scott and Julie's faith in God as they battle this horrible disease together has been a gift from God.  We are so blessed to walk with them every day.  We watched a documentary of sorts recently with a gentleman battling Lou Gehrig's disease whose profound quote touched me.  He said something to the effect of  "We are all going to die and none of us knows when it will be.  The difference is I feel it every day."  May God continue to bless this family and may we all boldly pray for a cure for ALS!

Well if you can't beat them you have to join them.  After much coercing and the realization that if I want to spend time with my boys I have to do boy things - and the purchase of a very nice generator - we took our first family camping trip.  The boys had a blast!  Despite the lack of showers it was a good time.

Spending the morning on the grounds of the capital with our church family has become quite a tradition and a rite of spring.
