May and June always fake you out in Mississippi. You convince yourself Summer isn't as bad as you remembered. Long days, warm temperatures, trips to the pool, dinners outside, approaching beach vacations....and then WHAM! it's 98 degrees with a real feel temperature of 103 and you remember why you were so happy to see fall. I do have to say this year I am just thankful I am not spending summer pregnant! Looking forward to cooling down at the beach!
Our summer kicked off with a visit from Nana and Granddaddy on Memorial Day weekend. It was so much fun to have them at our house. They were able to go to Drew's last T-ball game and then spend some time fishing at the lake. As you can see Drew and Nana were quite a good fishing team. Drew kept telling Granddaddy "it's ok if you don't catch any fish!"
Drew finished a fabulous first season of T-ball. So blessed to have ended up on a great team. He played his first full round of golf with Kevin and according to Kevin it was great. When I asked Drew how it was he told me Kevin hit the ball in the water more times than he did! We took the boys to the symphony in Canton for the outdoor concert. Drew really enjoyed the music and loved the "army men" who were there as part of the salute to our troops. He is getting taller and growing out of shoes and shorts regularly. His hair is getting blonder everyday. I am trying to hold on tight to my sweet little boy moments. So here are some of my favorite "Drewisms."
"Beeping Up" - used when referring to something going in reverse
"I have too many hands" - i.e. my hands are full
"That's what I am talking about" - what he tells you when he is happy with the answer you have given him.
Love to hear him try to say ambulance. It comes out something like "am-U-blu-ance"
The most fun lately is he loves playing Owen songs on his guitar while Owen takes a bath. These rang from Jesus Loves Me to Zack Brown to The Itsy Bitsy Spider to Wagon Wheel. Owen thinks it's awesome.
Can't believe he will be 4 in just a few days!!

Drew is growing up fast, but Owen is moving at what seems like warp speed. He now has 3 teeth and he will attempt to eat ANYTHING you put in front of him. Mum-Mums are probably his favorite (Google Mum-Mums - my law partner Sarah Beth swears they look like the raw hide chews she gives her dog) Cheerios are a close second. He rolls anywhere he wants to go and has figured out how to rock on his knees. It won't be long and I am afraid he is going to be much more adventurous than Drew. We pulled out the walker this weekend and he is slowly figuring out how to make it move. He loves being outside and anywhere Drew is. He is jabbering a lot. Sounds like Da-Da, but I think it may be Drew. He did use an "M" a while back that made it sound like mama, but of course it was right after he threw up in his carseat at the chick-fil-a. Why don't they ever want dad when they do those sort of things?!?!?
