Great Start to 2013

We have had a wonderful start to 2013. I came back to work a few weeks ago and Owen started daycare. Drew was so excited to have his brother at school with him. He checks on him daily and lets me know how Owen does each day. We are finally finding a rhythm after the whirlwind of preparing for and having a baby.  In the last 3 months we have not only watched a newborn become a happy, interactive baby, but have also watched a toddler become a little boy.  Drew has thrived being a big brother and grown up so much in these last few months.  We are loving every minute of these boys, as I now see how fast time flies.

This is Owen's picture on his first day of daycare.
It sure was hard to leave such a happy baby!
We were lucky enough that he will have one of the same teachers Drew had when he was in the baby room.  A little easier leaving your baby with someone you know and who knows you.

After contemplating the 10 hour car ride to Georgia with a 3 year old and a newborn we decided it was just too much.  You would think two short flights to South Georgia would be inexpensive - WRONG!  The shorter the flight and the smaller the airport the more expensive the ticket.  We were able to gather frequent flyer miles and use up some free companion certificates to make flying affordable.   We flew out last weekend to Georgia for Granddaddy’s birthday, the Hicks family reunion and to introduce Owen to all his South Georgia family.  The boys couldn’t have been better travelers and we had a wonderful trip.

Jackson was NOT impressed with Uncle Kevin's drum skills

And finally getting some rest on the way home..both boys crashed on the flight home!

We only spent a week trying to recover from the trip. Owen was convinced someone would hold him 24-7 since he got so much attention. And Drew now knows what a donut is....Thank You Aunt Betty and Aunt Pat...and asks for them regularly! He also wants new drums, but I think I have convinced him that he only gets to play drums when he visits Aunt Julie and Jackson!
