Christmas was so much fun this year. I can only imagine what it will be like when Owen is old enough to know what is happening. Drew reluctantly spoke to Santa several times. He was not interested in sitting in his lap, but he did get close enough to tell him exactly what we wants....Spiderman underwear! And Santa was very happy with that request!
He also got a work bench, car carrier truck and new guitar. A few days before Christmas when I finally took a deep breath and resolved that the baking, shopping and wrapping were done we realized we had forgotten one thing. Drew asked what Owen was getting for Christmas...ughhhhh. We hadn't planned anything for Owen other than maybe a small toy in his stocking. He is 7 weeks old! However, it was going to be awfully hard to explain to a 3 year old why Owen didn't get anything. So I headed to Wal-Mart with the rest of the free world. Drew helped me pick out some new pacifiers, a few books and of course some balls and rattles. We enjoyed Christmas Eve service with both boys in tow - which was a 'prayer'ful event for us both and then a peaceful rainy Christmas day. Lunch was a little different this year. Kevin received a cranberry stuffed pork tenderloin as a gift. It was great and a nice change from the traditional ham or turkey. It really was a good day of just being together.

Baking cookies with mom! We had a blast. He loved making candy canes and Christmas trees- which required lots of sprinkles! Santa left him some new baking tools in his stocking. We have already tried out the new rolling pin.
And in case you haven't heard we had some Christmas drama. After the tree was decorated and we were enjoying an evening preparing dinner Drew came into the kitchen holding one of the ornaments. It was the gingerbread man ornament he had made at school the year before. He held up the ornament and said "mom, it broke." One leg was missing! The crumbs around Drew's mouth made me question his story. When I told him it was a good thing he didn't eat it because it may make him sick he burst into to tears. He was very upset! Kevin and I didn't even have to punish him as he was so upset with himself. The series of pictures that follow are real Christmas memories!
After visiting Santa Drew got a real (fresh) gingerbread man cookie!
School Christmas Party
Fun to be able to go to all the activities this year since I was off work. Owen got to hang out at Dad's office.
Cookies for Santa on our reindeer plates. And of course an apple for the reindeer.
Santa came...
Owen was enjoying his swing and mobile Christmas morning.
So Santa realized on Christmas Eve that the workbench required a little more assembly than originally anticipated. So he thought it would be a great idea to just leave it unassembled in the box so Drew and Daddy could build something Christmas day. I mean it is a workbench and tools. It provided much needed entertainment for Dad and Drew on a very cold and rainy Christmas day.
A real Georgia boy always wears his boots when working.
Dad got Drew and Owen new balls to play with for Christmas. I love the picture below with the balls in the swing and Owen and Drew napping on the blanket.
And one last picture. Some days its just hard being Owen. Too funny!
