4th of July Redemption

Well, I am pleased to report that 4th of July vacation was wonderful!  If you haven't been to the Grand Marriott in Pointe Clear you need to go.  It is a wonderful place to rest and step back in time.  The sunsets are amazing.  The boys enjoyed pin pong, horse shoes, croquet, golf and lots and lots of swimming.  After the 'no relaxing' beach trip it was a much welcome vacation.  For the first time Owen opted to sleep with Drew in the bed instead of the crib and they loved it.  Sleeping with Drew is not always fun as he prefers to sleep sideways and upside down.  But Owen was a trooper and loved it.  We watched the fireworks two nights in a row which they loved.  The boys really enjoyed watching the ceremonial firing of the civil war canon on the hotel grounds.  Complete with a civil war re-enactment..  Can't get more patriotic than that.  We avoided the dreaded Mobile Bay tunnel on the way down, but our end of summer vacation tradition is to drive back home through it.  Little boys are pretty impressed by a tunnel.  For 10 miles before we got there Owen would say "Are you ready?"  This is what family vacation is supposed to be.  So thankful for a great 4th with our family.
