Running Into 2014

Someone very smart told me once that life is a marathon and not a sprint.  I know this is true, but when you start out 2014 like we have it is hard to catch your breath.  Between travel, snow days, the rodeo, required attendance events and just the drama of every day life we are spent and it is barely February.  We spent last weekend trying to refuel our tanks and slow down the cruise control to a livable speed.  With all the craziness we are reminded how precious life is.  We have several friends and family members who are dealing with loss, sickness and hard times.  We pray for their peace and try to find our own peace to be able to be rocks for them during these times.  Life can be trying and there will be challenges along the way, but knowing that God walks with us on this journey makes it bearable.  May you all find rest and peace as we slow down 2014.  I am lucky to wake up to smiling faces every morning that remind me that God is in control.  A friend posted a quote recently that I loved "God's purpose for you may not be in your life, but in the life of the person you raise."  What an amazing responsibility we have for the gifts we have been given - our children. 

Owen's First Haircut 

Thanks to Mr. David's patience and a sucker he did WAY better than his brother first time around.  We only cut the bangs and left the curls.  Just couldn't bare to cut those yet.  Kevin says he will have a nice mullet by the summer.

 Winter trip to the Children's Museum.  Drew and his buddy James Pacelli had a blast.  Thanks to James' mom and dad for taking care of Drew so I could chase the wild man.

We were all very happy there was no snow day 3.  Cabin fever is not good for any of us.  Especially Owen who thought his name was "no-no" after just a few hours stuck inside.  Lucky for us our neighbors were out too so we just had a snow day party at our house.  Pics of the snow ball fight to come...

The tractor display in front of the coliseum was as much fun as the rodeo.

 Lastly, for every person that thinks work travel is fun...this was the temp in Denver last week while I was there.  This was NOT fun!
