Happy Easter!

As expected life in Mississippi is never dull.  The 65 degree spring like temperatures of February are gone and now it is 50 and cold.  Go figure.  We have battled the stomach bug and food poisoning over the past few weeks.  NOT FUN!  Poor Drew got the worst of it and missed his school Easter egg hunt.  It was a long few weeks for us all.  Easter weekend brought healing and some sunshine.  We enjoyed the Galloway annual Easter egg hunt, Easter Sunday worship and a wonderful Easter lunch.
Drew continues to be more inquisitive every day.  Last week I had to field questions about why Jesus died, if Mary was going to ride the donkey with him on Palm Sunday and if Jesus could sing.  Thank goodness Papa is an expert in this field.  We called and let him handle those!  Unfortunately no one could answer the question of the week...Does the Easter bunny wear shoes?  Have no idea where that came from.  We saw the Easter bunny at the egg hunt and Drew checked him out.  He did not have on shoes, but has some at home.  Always eventful!  T-Ball games start this weekend and he is so excited.  Hoping we have a better experience than we did with soccer!
Thank you John MacNeill for teaching our child your dance moves.  Very scary.

Owen is growing too fast.  He is rolling over, sitting up and even wanting to stand.  He is a wiggle worm which makes it really hard to hold him.  He wants to see what Drew is doing at all times.  He started a few weeks ago on baby food and we are expecting a tooth to break through any day.  Loves peas, bananas and squash.  Not a fan of sweet potatoes.  He is a happy baby.  He wakes up happy and goes to bed happy.  So much fun the second time around.  We are savoring every minute and trying, unsuccessfully, to slow down life.

The Easter egg hunt was a blast this year.  Special thanks to Thomas Wiygul (aka the Easter bunny) and Rachel and Emma for helping with all the fun.  Although Drew was in the spirit of the hunt this year, he was only interested in hunting blue eggs.  Pretty funny.  Someone "shared" a red egg and he reluctantly took it.

The Wiyguls!

Drew asked Thomas if he saw the Easter bunny! HA!

The BLUE Easter Egg Hunt

Easter Sunday was a great day of family. The Easter bunny came and made a huge mess. Drew informed me that if he made a mess in our house again his daddy would "shot that Easter bunny!" Lord help me!  Easter outfits (option 2 - after Dad vetoed option one) were perfect and lunch was great. You can't go wrong with ham and blueberry yum-yum for dessert!  Looking forward to family coming in next weekend for Owen's baptism.  For all of you in Jackson we would love to have you join us at the 11:00 a.m. service at Galloway.  For all of you not in Jackson I will post the church website link and you can join us live streaming on the internet.  It will be a special day.

The Easter bunny brought a Spiderman umbrella.
Perfect for a rainy Easter Sunday.

Since I rarely have pics of Kevin and I this is one I thought I would share.  Kevin and I chaired the 21st Annual Capital Area Bar Association Golf tournament.  Albeit cold it was a great event.  Raised a great amount of money for the MS Volunteer Lawyers Project.  When you chair an event with your spouse you get to spend some "quality" time together.  As Kevin told someone yesterday, "we've done our marriage enrichment for the year."
